# Connect Cursor to ODUS

Add ODUS to Cursor as a remote MCP server. Cursor's agent can then read your ODUS data while you work.

## Add the server

Create `.cursor/mcp.json` in your project for that project only, or `~/.cursor/mcp.json` for every project:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "odus": {
      "url": "https://mcp.odus.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

The file holds no credential. Each person who uses it signs in with their own ODUS account.

## Sign in

1. Open **Cursor Settings** and find the server in the MCP section. Cursor shows that it needs you to sign in.
2. Choose to connect. Your browser opens the ODUS Dashboard.
3. Sign in and approve the connection, as [Sign in and approve](https://docs.odus.com/docs/guides/ai-connector/.md#sign-in-and-approve) describes. The browser returns to Cursor, and the server shows its tools.

If signing in fails

Update Cursor to its latest version. If it still fails, connect through `mcp-remote`, as [Clients that only run local servers](https://docs.odus.com/docs/guides/ai-connector/other-clients.md#clients-that-only-run-local-servers) describes, with Cursor's `mcp.json` as the configuration file.

## Use it

Ask the agent a question in chat, for example "find the last failed payment for customer cus\_2R0uWz4tu9wxTMBXxj9CJfSE9vV and explain the error". Cursor asks before it runs a tool, unless you allowed it to run tools automatically.

## Disconnect

Remove the entry from `mcp.json`, and disconnect it in the Dashboard under **Settings > Personal > Connected apps**.
